creARTe Artist Workshop K-8: Valentine Edition

  • Tieton Fueling Station 519 Maple Street Tieton, WA 98947 United States (map)

Date and Time: Saturday, February 4th from 10:30am - 12:30pm

Location: Tieton Fueling Station

Details: This Saturday, Tieton Arts & Humanities welcomes back Tieton resident ceramicist Amanda Ontiveros to teach the kiddos a sculpture handbuilding workshop using model magic with a Valentine's Day twist. Come with your favorite elementary schooler from 10:30-12:30 to learn basic sculpting techniques. Students will leave with a special 3D valentine they can paint and give away to someone special. Free for the whole family, but donations are always appreciated to keep us going.

The first and third Saturday of every month, throughout the summer and school year, a Teaching Artist comes to Tieton to share with kids the thing they do best. In the future, on complementing Saturdays, we will partner with the Yakima Valley Libraries to offer a read-aloud and accompanying craft project, sometimes in English and sometimes in Spanish. Usually, parents or caregivers stay for the duration, often participating alongside kids. In the ‘21–’22 school year, activities and attendance have tended toward the younger grades, yet as the program progresses, we are creating additional experiences designed for older children. Check Instagram or Facebook to see what we’re up to next!
