free Saturday Workshops
The first and third Saturday of every month, throughout the summer and school year, a Teaching Artist comes to Tieton to share with kids the thing they do best. In the future, on complementing Saturdays, we will partner with the Yakima Valley Libraries to offer a read-aloud and accompanying craft project, sometimes in English and sometimes in Spanish. Usually, parents or caregivers stay for the duration, often participating alongside kids. In the ‘21–’22 school year, activities and attendance have tended toward the younger grades, yet as the program progresses, we are creating additional experiences designed for older children. Check Instagram or Facebook to see what we’re up to next!
Example Saturday Workshops so far:
Watercolor and painting with Cindy Lemus
Origami Fun with Elizabeth Montes de Oca
Collagraph Printmaking with Michelle Fortier
Sculpting with Clay with Amanda Ontiveros

10+ years of art teachers’ lessons via Art in the Park, historically offered on Thursdays in summer, with artists like Christie Tirado and Karen Quint (former director of Boxx Gallerygallery.com/).
Workshops are held from 10:30–12:30 at The Tieton Fueling Station, our home at 519 Maple Street on Tieton Square. No pre-registration is necessary: come, and bring a friend! Families can choose to leave their children for the the workshop and come back to pick them up if they sign an emergency contact and permission/release form.
